Elena Botts, a well-traveled individual, has lived in various locations throughout the northeast and abroad. Her poems and writings have been published in over a hundred literary and scholarly magazines, and she has won four poetry contests and published numerous books. Botts' visual artwork has also garnered many awards and has been exhibited in several galleries. She collaborated on, released, and installed sound and moving image artwork ("mourning dove"), as well as multimedia and conceptual art. Botts also organized a multimedia collective ("unknown sound collective") while pursuing graduate school and engaging in academic, policy, and activist work & projects, inspired by the spiritual and occasional expeditions.
